“You and I possess within ourselves at every moment of our lives, under all circumstances, the power to transform the quality of our lives.” – Werner Erhard
Vision.
Whether life’s stressors have begun to feel overpowering, or something specific and drastic has stopped you in your tracks, I can help you find your way again. The distress that accompanies traumatic experiences, a sense of losing direction in life, or overwhelming stress can lead to feelings of worthlessness, lack of motivation, and cause racing thoughts or anxiety. Perhaps you’re experiencing relationship difficulties, an unhealthy relationship with drugs or alcohol, or a sense that you aren’t quite living up to the potential you know you have. If you are experiencing any of these issues, and you want to find some relief, you are on the right track.
Approach.
A strong therapist-client relationship is essential to a positive therapeutic experience. Through building a sense of compassion for yourself, I will help you find relief from the distress that has weighed you down. I work from a client-centered and trauma-focused approach to treatment. I value your insight and work from an empathetic and non-judgmental perspective while helping my clients build understanding of how their past traumatic or stressful experiences have impacted all areas of their well-being.
I pull components of various evidence-based treatment modalities depending on the needs of my clients. I frequently use aspects of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness Based treatment. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR therapy).
